Abstract: Contemporary telecommunications infrastructure faces the dual imperative of maintaining five-by-nine availability while defending against increasingly sophisticated cyber threats that target redundancy mechanisms as primary attack surfaces. Traditional monolithic high availability frameworks exhibit significant limitations in scalability, resource efficiency, and security resilience when deployed in distributed cloud-native environments supporting network slicing, edge computing, and virtualized network functions. The proposed modular redundancy framework establishes a three-layer architectural model spanning the hardware, middleware, and software domains that separates redundancy mechanisms from specific implementations while enabling coordinated operations through standardized interfaces. Security-embedded components integrate cryptographic state synchronization, zero-trust redundancy channels, blockchain-based authentication frameworks, and trusted execution environments into the stack manager architecture and failover orchestration subsystem. To balance microsecond-level latency demands against cryptographic overhead while keeping carrier-grade performance characteristics, the hardware-software security partitioning makes use of field-programmable gate array acceleration and network function virtualization. Through hybrid operational modes and backward compatibility layers, implementation plans help to gradually move from legacy hardware-based redundancy to security-enhanced virtualized designs, hence allowing operators to slowly modernize telecommunications infrastructure without interruption of service.
